I dwell in the secret place of the Most High, I shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.
Surely He shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover me with His feathers, and under His wings shalt I trust:
His truth shall be my shield and buckler.
I shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness;
nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand;
but it shall not come nigh me.
Only with my eyes shalt I behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because I have made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, my habitation;
There shall no evil befall me, neither shall any plague come nigh my dwelling.
For He shall give His angels charge over me, to keep me in all my ways.
They shall bear me up in their hands, lest I dash my foot against a stone.
I shalt tread upon the lion and adder:
the young lion and the dragon shalt I trample under feet.
Because I have set My love upon You, therefore You will deliver me:
You will set me on high, because I have known Your name.
I shall call upon You, and You will answer me: You will be with me in trouble;
You will deliver me, and honour me.
With long life You will satisfy me, and show me Your salvation.
Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything
[every circumstance and situation]
by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make my
[specific] requests known to God.
And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace]
which transcends all understanding,
[that peace which] stands guard over my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus [is mine].
Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray.
Let petitions and praises shape my worries into prayers,
letting God know my concerns.
Before I know it, a sense of God’s wholeness,
everything coming together for good, will come and settle me down.
It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of my life.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
