Praying through Colossians 1:15
Thank You, Father, that You sent Your only begotten Son into the world, which He made, to become one of us so that we might be reconciled back to Yourself and become children of God and joint-heirs with Christ, Who is the firstborn over all creation and before Whom we bow in reverend worship and praise forever and ever, AMEN.
“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:”
(Colossians 1:15)
Praying through Colossians 1:16
Heavenly Father, when I consider the enormity of Who the Lord Jesus is and what He has done to save my soul, I stand in awe of You, knowing that He was wounded for my transgressions, bruised for my iniquities; died on the cross so that I might be forgiven of my sins and rose again to give me His resurrected life. I humbly kneel before You in praise and grateful thanks - for He alone is worthy, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN
“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”
(Colossians 1:16)
Praying through Colossians 1:17
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your word of truth and for revealing Christ to us through the Scriptures. Thank You that He set aside His eternal glory and came to dwell among us as a Man and identified with our sinfulness so that by faith we could be forgiven of our sins and be identified with His righteousness. Thank You that in Him we live and move and have our being and that He holds all things together by the strength of His great and mighty power. Thank You that in Christ we have been made children of God - through time and into eternity - AMEN.
“And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”
(Colossians 1:17)
Praying through Colossians 1:18
Heavenly Father, what a glorious truth that in Christ alone our hope is found and by His death and resurrection we have an assurance that we too will be raised incorruptible from the dead. Thank You that as part of His body I have been imputed with His righteousness and made a new creation in Christ.. by grace though faith in Him. Thank You that I am a member of His Body and that through His resurrection I too will be raised, AMEN.
“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
(Colossians 1:18)
Praying through Colossians 1:19
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your simple, sublime, gospel of grace, which has saved me from my sin and placed me in Christ, in Whom all fullness dwells. Help me to understand more of Your Word and to develop a simple, childlike faith, that is so pleasing to You. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
“For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;”
(Colossians 1:19)
Praying through Colossians 1:20
Heavenly Father, the more I reflect upon the sacrifice of Jesus' life for mine, the more I am stunned by the enormity of what it means. That He should love me so much, that He would pour out His own lifeblood for me. I stand in awe of You and pray that I may live my life for You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.”
(Colossians 1:20)
Praying through Colossians 1:21
Heavenly Father, may I never forget the tremendous and terrible price that it cost You to redeem me to Yourself. I know that there is nothing that I can add to my salvation, for it was paid in full by Jesus Christ, the innocent Lamb of God. He became the sacrifice for sin so that I might be forgiven of all my sins, reconciled with You, and given the blessed hope that I will live eternally with You. I praise and thank You, Lord. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
“And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled”
(Colossians 1:21)
Praying through Colossians 1:22
Thank You, Father, for reconciling the world back to Yourself through the death of Jesus Christ my Lord and forgiving my sins so that I may be clothed in Christ’s righteousness. I pray that the wonder of this glorious truth will never be exhausted in my life. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
“In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:”
(Colossians 1:22)
Praying through Colossians 1:23
Heavenly Father, thank You that my salvation, sanctification and glorification does not depend on what I do but on what Christ has already done for me. Thank You that You have promised to build Your Church and will one day present us all to the Father in heaven... as a glorious Church.. not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that we will all be holy and without blemish before You - in Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
“If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;”
(Colossians 1:23)
Praying through Colossians 1:24
Loving Heavenly Father, as I share the pressure, pain, problems, and persecutions of my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, may I rejoice in my sufferings, knowing that in so doing I am helping to fill up the afflictions of Christ, to Your praise and glory. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
“Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:”
(Colossians 1:24)
Praying through Colossians 1:25
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your written Word and the wonderful truths that are contained within its pages. Thank You that You appointed Paul to be a minister for You, to fulfil Your Word. I ask that You would make clear to me the tasks You have for me to do in my life, for Your praise and glory. Use me in whatever way You please, Lord, to further Your gospel and to lift the name of Jesus high. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
“Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;”
(Colossians 1:25)
Praying through Colossians 1:26
Heavenly Father, thank You for the ministry which was revealed to the apostle Paul and for the truths that are laid out for my learning in the God-breathed Scriptures. I pray that You would lead and guide me into full maturity and that in turn, You would use me to encourage other brothers and sisters in Christ, to Your praise and glory, AMEN.
“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:”
(Colossians 1:26)
Praying through Colossians 1:27
Heavenly Father, I stand increasingly amazed at the privileged position that You have bestowed on sinners such as I, who by grace through faith in Christ, have been given the riches of the glory of this mystery that was hidden in ages past, but which was revealed to us through Paul. May I live and work to Your praise and glory, for You alone are worthy. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:”
(Colossians 1:27)
Praying through Colossians 1:28
Heavenly Father, thank You for all the truths that are contained in Your Word. Help me to read, mark, learn, inwardly digest, and daily apply all that I am taught so that I may grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
“Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:”
(Colossians 1:28)
Praying through Colossians 1:29
Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing ministry of the apostle Paul and for the many truths that You chose to reveal to Your Church through him. Thank You for the indwelling Holy Spirit, Who works mightily in me when I am prepared to submit my life into His hands. Keep me from the futile works of the flesh which can only fail and leave me saying like Paul, "O wretched man that I am, who shall deliver me from this weak body of flesh?" but help me to strive according to the mighty power that works in me, knowing that when I am weak in my own abilities, then Your strength is perfected in me. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
“Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.”
